Musicians, and creative people in general can be some of the most fragile people. We don't like to admit it, but since we create art that's intended to be shared, there's always some part of us concerned with perception. Is it good enough? Am I good enough? Typical questions.
Recently I auditioned to play keyboards for a upcoming musical and well.... I passed. Waiting on callbacks and don't want to give too many details too soon (maybe later) but, the crazy thing is I almost didn't go. Practiced and prepared all day and at the last second almost let fear deprive me of a blessing. All in all the moral is this: If you have a goal or dream, push past the innate self doubt and just pursue it. Sometimes you'll surprise yourself.
